If you are making plans for a big trip with family or friends, you certainly need a bigger vehicle that can accommodate everybody. It should have more than enough space for all of you for a comfortable journey. The best solution to such a requirement is a charter bus. There are several service providers available who offer such services for your trips. They not only provide you with a vehicle but also help and assist you in your travel plans and arrangements.

So, how will you search for a good charter bus that will cater best to your requirements? What are the steps you must follow to select a vehicle that will suit you and your plans best? Below are some instructions which will help you understand the basic points you must consider before you select a bus or hire a service provider:

1. The local association for carrier safety administration will be able to help you in finding safe and reliable carriers available in your locality. These safety agencies are important parts of the department of transportation. Hence, they have authentic information about companies dealing with various vehicles. They have a list of all such service providers who are qualified to do their job.

2. Apart from the above, friends and acquaintances also help in providing referrals. You can talk to them about any service provider they know or may have hired recently for travel purposes. They can provide you with details of their experience with their service provider, the drivers and throughout the entire journey.

3. Search the web, look into relevant information directories for contact details of charter bus companies available in your locality. From this and all of the above, shortlist the ones you think can cater to your requirements best.

The Journey Can Be More Fun Than the Destination

With many trips to exciting locations, the non exciting part of the experience is very often the often-arduous task of just getting there. Piling into the bus, stopping for mediocre food, and riding in great discomfort for hours on end – these are memories that all of us have of trips that probably didn’t go so well that we would often prefer to have never had.

But trips and adventures don’t have to be miserable slogs along the road just to get there. Rather, the trip itself can be the best part of the entire experience. That is, if you’re traveling in the style and comfort of a limousine bus.

No matter what the event is, no matter how many people are coming along, and no matter how far away the destination is, few modes of group travel compare to the luxury and class of a limo bus. Fully outfitted with air conditioning, television, high-end music systems, and incredibly comfortable seating, you would never know how much pleasant an experience of the journey to a destination can be until you’ve gotten there in a limo bus.

One of the most popular ways that people have chosen to use limo bus services is for wedding transportation. Can you imagine a better way to celebrate the best day of your life than by getting to the wedding, and then to the reception, in a limousine with 40 of your closest friends and family? The dancing, drinking, and partying of the reception don’t need to wait until you get to the reception hall – they can begin as soon as you leave the chapel.

However, that doesn’t mean that limo buses are only for raucous and rowdy partying. They can be great for business excursions, too. If you’re flying in two dozen executives from out of the country and want to show them the sights and wonders of the area, what better way than inside of a limo bus? You’ll be responsible for shuttling them around on leather seats and elegant lighting, all the while enjoying high-end drinks. There can be few better ways to kick off an enduring and strong business relationship than a tour inside of a limousine bus.

Bangalore to Kodaikanal

Our first trip to Kodaikanal compelled us to come back again to this beautiful place. It was a weekend trip and we decided to take the bus route to the hills. Starting at night from Bangalore and reaching early morning in the green locales of Kodaikanal was extremely soothing to the senses. We missed the off-season rates by just 2 days which generally begins from 16th June onwards but some of the hotels allow discount only after 1st July onwards. The bus ride was confortable starting from Madiwala in Bangalore and reached Kodai in the morning hours.

This time I had made a prior booking in one of the best in class hotels in Kodai – The Kodai International hotel at a rate of 2700/- + taxes for one night stay and 1699/- +taxes being the off-season rates. The hotel is located just ahead of the main town and surrounded by a number of smaller hotels like The Mount View and other hotels where the rates are still cheaper. The location is at a lesser elevation from sea level than the main town which is at approximately 6300 feet.

The Kodai International hotel is spread over a sprawling campus and offers both regular accommodation as well as cottages. It is a perfect place to relax with a water-fall immediately behind it. The Bunny Zone is a big attraction for children and lot of sporting activities for them there. The hotel also houses some Ostriches which were probably imported besides a bird house which houses parrots of different varieties. The games room had a number of options ranging from carom to table tennis to cool off your heels after trekking.

We bought a half day tour ticket which cost us 150 per head. The journey was arranged in a mini-van with mostly couples taking this group tour. The tour was mostly covering the upward travel on single roads with number of sharp turns. Our first stop was at the “Upper Lake View” from where a full view of the lake down below was clearly visible. A spot also housed a telescope for better view of the details. Some shops selling home-made handicraft items were also at this place.

We moved still upward to our next stop at “Green Valley View” which was formally known as “Suicide Point” . The jinxed name is no longer used in order to avoid attention from fallen youth. It is a deep valley with a steep vertical fall and hence the name. A splendid view of the green valley below greets the eye only on clear days. We saw the Pillar Rocks on the way ahead and proceeded to the next stop.
